What the operator sees

You are reading the documentation for version 1.1.8. Go to the current version (1.2.0)

This page describes what the operator at the desk sees. The program is built on an engine, but it replaces the interface of that engine with its own.

What is replaced

WhereWhat appears
The windowThe playout interface at full size, without a scene list, a mixer or a menu bar
The title barUltimate Playout
The taskbarThe icon and name of Ultimate Playout
Task ManagerUltimate Playout, not the name of the engine
The splash screen at startupThe splash screen of Ultimate Playout

As a result, the operator cannot open a screen that is unrelated to the show. The loading screen covers the start of the program, so an unfinished window is never visible.

What looks different

There are two exceptions.

Some dialog boxes. The properties of a source and a few configuration windows look different from the rest of the interface.

The log. The log is in engineconfig and has its own format. It is used to diagnose problems, and it is intended for the person who supports the installation. See sending logs.

For the person who sets up a computer

Start the program from the launcher shortcut. If you start another file in the program folder, the program starts with only part of the Ultimate Playout interface.

Do not rename or move anything in the program folder, because the program then starts without its own interface.
