The pinned engine

You are reading the documentation for version 1.1.8. Go to the current version (1.2.0)

The program does not update itself. It stays on the installed version until a new setup replaces it. This page explains what that means for you.

What this means for you

You do not need to do anything. The program never asks you to update, and it never asks you to restart to finish an installation when a service is about to start.

To get a new version, run a new setup. Nothing changes from one week to the next unless someone decides to change it.

Your own OBS is not affected. It is a separate installation, and it continues to update in its own way.

Checking the version

Go to Settings → Info → Engine. When you report a problem, include this version and the version of the program, because together they identify your installation.

When the version changes

When you run a newer setup, the setup replaces the program, but it does not change the configuration folder. Your settings, scenes and designs therefore remain.

A second run of the same setup is quick, because there is nothing to replace.
