Languages

You are reading the documentation for version 1.1.8. Go to the current version (1.2.0)

The interface is available in English, Dutch, German, Norwegian and Spanish. This page explains where you set the language, and which texts the setting does not change.

Setting the language

In the setup. The setup first asks for a language, and the program starts in that language. If you run the setup again in another language, the program changes to that language too. An update that you start from Settings → Info runs in the language of the program, so it does not change it.

Later, under Settings → General → Language. The program keeps this choice until someone runs the setup again.

Most of the interface changes immediately, but a few texts are built only at startup and keep the old language until you restart.

What the setting belongs to

The language is a setting of the computer, not of the rundown or the user. Your language does not change when you open a list made by someone else. It also does not change when you log in as a different Windows user on the same computer, because the setting is stored in the shared configuration.

Keep this in mind in a building where one operator prefers Dutch and another English: there is one setting for the computer, and a change applies to everyone.

What is not translated

Your own content. The titles of cues, the names of groups and the text on your slides are yours, and the program never changes them.

Texts from a module. A module has its own texts in its own languages. If a language is missing, the module uses English, like the program.

The log. The log is not translated, and much of it is in Dutch. This is not a problem, because the log is for the person who supports the installation.

If a text looks wrong

The program uses English for every text that is missing in a language. An English phrase in a Dutch interface therefore means that the text has no translation yet, and not that something is broken.

Please report such a text, with the language you were using and the text on screen. These two details are enough to find it.
