Reordering and editing

You are reading the documentation for version 1.2.0. Go to the current version (1.2.1)

You can change a list at any time, also while it is running, and almost every change is safe. This page describes the changes that you make before a show, and the few that you make during one: dragging, duplicating, copying, finding, renaming, deleting and locking the list.

Dragging

To move a line, drag it. A group moves as one block, with everything inside it, so you do not need to select its lines first.

A line shows where the line will be placed, and this also works inside a group. If you drop a line onto the heading of a collapsed group, it is added at the end of that group. The numbers update as soon as you release the mouse button.

Duplicating

Right-click a line and choose Duplicate, or choose Edit → Duplicate. The copy appears directly below the original, with the same trim, volume, transition and follow action.

This is useful when you need the same clip twice with different trims: duplicate the cue and change the out point of the copy.

Cutting, copying and pasting

Select one or more lines and press Ctrl+C to copy them, or Ctrl+X to cut them. Then click the line below which they must go and press Ctrl+V. The same commands are in the Edit menu. A group is copied with everything inside it, and the copies keep their trims, volumes, transitions and follow actions.

You can also paste into the list of another playout. Click the panel of that playout first, so that it becomes the active playout, and then paste. The copies are new cues, so changing them does not change the original lines.

Cutting does not ask for confirmation. If you cut a line by mistake, press Ctrl+Z to put it back.

Finding a line

Press Ctrl+F, or choose Edit → Find…. A search field appears on the right of the toolbar. Type part of a title, and the program moves the cursor to the first line that matches. Press Enter or ↓ for the next match, and Shift+Enter or ↑ for the previous one. The search also looks inside collapsed groups, and opens a group when the match is inside it. Press Esc to close the field.

The search moves only the cursor. It does not arm the line, so the green line and the next GO stay where they were, and you can therefore search during a show.

Renaming

Double-click the title, type the new name and press Enter. On a group heading, you can also right-click and choose Rename….

A title starts as the file name, and a file name is often hard to read during a broadcast. Rename the lines that you need to find quickly, for example to Clip opening instead of 2026-08-final-v3-export.mp4.

Deleting

Select a line and press Delete, or right-click the line and choose Delete. The program asks for confirmation, unless you switched this off under Settings → General.

Press Ctrl+Z to restore the last deleted line. The line returns to its place, together with the music beds that were attached to it. You can restore up to twenty deletions, and the same command is the first item in the right-click menu.

Undo applies to the list, not to the broadcast. If the deleted cue was on air, the playout stays stopped: undo restores the line, but does not put the cue back on air.

If you want to take a line out of the running order without losing it, use the archive folder. A line in the archive is easy to find, while a deleted line can only be restored with undo.

Locking the list

When the list is locked, a click on a line no longer moves the green line. During a show, the next GO plays the armed cue. If you edit the list while a show runs, you click lines all the time, and each click would arm the line that you clicked. While the list is locked, a click only selects the line. You can still edit the list, and GO, the keyboard and a control panel work as usual.

Choose Edit → Lock the list to lock the list. While it is locked, a Locked button appears beside the name of the list, on the right of the toolbar. Click that button, or choose the same menu command again, to unlock the list.

Editing while the show runs

Everything on this page also works while a playout is on air, and none of it affects the cue on air, with two things to keep in mind:

  • Dragging the cue that is on air does not stop it. The picture continues, and only the place of the cue in the list changes.
  • Deleting the cue that is on air stops it, so avoid this during a broadcast.

Adding cues is always safe, so you can drop files onto a running list when something unplanned is needed.
