Besides playing existing material, you can build a picture yourself, such as a combination of several sources, a countdown to the start, or a filter over the whole output.

Before you start
The program stores the scenes you build on this computer, and not in the list. The Scene menu in the toolbar lists all scenes, and a list on another computer only finds a scene if it exists there as well.
