Playouts

You are reading the documentation for version 1.1.0. Go to the current version (1.1.6)

This chapter has not changed since version 1.0.2.

This page only appears when you run more than one playout. With a single line there is nothing here that is not already under Outputs.

How many

SettingWhat it does
Number of playoutsOne to four.

A playout you switch on starts empty: no rundown, no output, nothing live. Give it an output and a name and it is ready — see more than one playout.

Each extra line renders and encodes its own picture, so two is roughly twice the work of one.

Colour

SettingWhat it does
Colour playout 1 … 4The accent colour of that line. Click to choose.

The colour tints that playout’s list background, its panel and its block in the status bar. It is not decoration: it is how you know which rundown you are looking at from across the room.

Pick colours that are clearly different in a dark room. Blue and amber works; two shades of blue does not.

Always live

SettingWhat it does
Playout N always live (start at launch)That playout goes live by itself when the program starts, with the cue that was live when you closed it.

For a screen that must never be black: a foyer display, a hall screen, an overlay layer. It changes only the start — the playout stays an ordinary line you can fire, stop and edit.

Full page: permanent playout.

That split follows the hardware: everything about where the picture goes is an output question, and everything about how you recognise the line is here.
