This page covers the practical side. Where the switches are, when a restart is needed, and what it does to rundowns that were built with a module you turn off.
Where
Settings → Modules. Every installed module with a switch beside it.
Modules were chosen when the program was installed; the setup asks which to install and which to switch on straight away. Installing without activating is a valid choice — the module is on disk, and this screen is where you enable it later.
When it takes effect
Some modules are ready the moment you switch them on. Others need the program to restart before their parts appear, and the program tells you which.
When in doubt: restart. It costs less than working out why a button did not appear.
What happens to your rundowns
Switching a module off does not change your lists. The cues stay where they are, with their titles and their settings.
What disappears is what that module drew. A song cue without the song module is a line that puts nothing on screen. Switch the module back on and it works again.
That means a list is never damaged by switching modules — but a show is, if you switch something off and then run the rundown that depended on it.
Before a service
Check this screen when a machine has been reinstalled or updated, and check it against what your rundown needs. Two minutes, and it catches the failure mode that is otherwise only discovered live.
Do not update modules during a service. Fetching them stops the modules for a moment — see Info.
When a module will not start
The program says which of the causes it is, and none of them stop the base program:

The last one is the only serious one: reinstall so that both come from the same version.
