This page is the map. Which types exist, what each is for, and the two things that apply to all of them: how you add one, and how to get the ones you never use out of your way.
The types

Adding one
Three routes, and they end in the same place:
- The toolbar button for that type. Buttons with an arrow hold the related types behind it — the media playlist and the link sit under Media, the stills playlist under Still.
- Dragging a file onto the list. The type follows from what you dropped; the full table is in part 1.
- Duplicating a line you already have, when you want the same settings again.
A new cue lands where the insertion line is, including inside a group, and starts with the default transition and follow action you set under Settings → Cue list.
Hiding the types you never use
Settings → Cue list → Cue types in the toolbar lets you switch off the buttons for types this installation does not need. A house that never shows a web page can take that button out and have a shorter toolbar for it.
Two things it does not do, and both are deliberate:
- Cues of that type already in a list keep playing. Hiding a button removes a way to make new ones, not the ability to run what exists.
- Dragging a file in still works. The recognition of file types is independent of which buttons you show.
What a module provides is not in this list — that is switched on and off with the module itself, under Settings → Modules.
