Release Update 1.1.8 : Better Live Control, Granular Timing, and Rock-Solid Stability

This update brings a significant set of workflow upgrades, playback controls, and crucial bug fixes shaped directly by feedback from operators using the software in production every week.

Whether you need to edit cue lists safely while on air, split media on the fly, or optimize system decoding, here is what’s new.

What’s New

Smarter Live Control & Automation

  • Lock the Cue List: Beside the Delete button, a new Lock toggle prevents accidental clicks in the list from moving the NEXT cue. When working on a running list on air, clicking rows now only selects them—leaving GO, keyboard shortcuts, and control panels untouched.
  • Timed Cues on the Clock: Right-click any cue and select Start at… to assign a precise wall-clock time (down to the second). The cue fires automatically at that moment and takes whatever is live—ensuring late-running items don’t push scheduled starts back. On the first item, this sets the list start time.
  • Emergency Fallback List: Right-click any group and mark it as an Emergency list. If the running order ends with nothing cued, this group automatically loops in the background so the output never cuts to black. It remains isolated from standard playback (GO and arrow navigation bypass it).
  • Live End-Time Projections: The status bar now displays the exact remaining duration of the list and the projected end time, calculated relative to what is currently live. For items waiting on manual GO, indicators clearly state at least and not before.

Media & Playback Flexibility

  • In-Place Video Splitting: Right-click a video cue and choose Split… to divide it into two cues referencing the same source file. On air, the dialog suggests the current playback position; offline, it splits at the halfway mark. This makes inserting mid-program promos or breaks seamless without re-encoding.
  • Music Beds Snapped to Sub-Steps: Music beds can now snap directly to sub-cue steps (such as name plates, line pairs in a song, or subtitle blocks) rather than just entire cues. Visual markers in the Overlay column indicate exact start and stop boundaries.
  • Sub-Step Song Endings: Under Settings > Cue list > Songs, enable End a song with a step without subtitles. This automatically inserts a trailing step where the subtitle clears while the background and verse styling remain on screen.

Dedicated Performance & Hardware Settings

  • Hardware & GPU Controls: A new Performance page in Settings consolidates machine-specific hardware options. In addition to hardware acceleration for web views, you can now toggle Decode video on the graphics card. Disabling this forces software CPU decoding globally—ideal for systems encountering GPU-related artifacting or tearing, without having to reconfigure incoming cue lists. Both settings apply on application restart.

Fixes & Improvements

  • Non-Destructive Song Editing: Opening properties on a custom song no longer resets it. Attached music beds, modified groups, custom layouts, and live states remain intact while updating lines or parts in place.
  • DeckLink Frame-Rate Sync: DeckLink output modes now update automatically alongside canvas frame rate changes (maintaining resolution at the new rate) with clear status logging, preventing port-busy or failed initialization errors. (If your DeckLink is currently stalled, open Settings > Outputs, verify the mode, and click OK).
  • Small Screen Layouts: Designer windows (name plates, subtitles, logos, and backgrounds) now feature vertical scrolling on compact displays (such as 1366 × 768), ensuring the OK button and core controls are always accessible.
  • Full Group Duplication: Duplicating a song, presentation, or playlist now clones the full block with all rows, cues, and underlying music beds positioned directly behind the original.
  • Imported Cue Jumps: Jump targets inside imported groups or bundles now link to the newly imported cue copies rather than pointing back to the source items.
  • Dialog Enter-Key Behavior: Pressing Enter inside a text or number field now registers the value without prematurely confirming and closing the dialog window.
  • Style Propagation: Using Apply to all in the Name Plate Designer now updates quick-access song and person panels immediately.
