Release Update 1.2.1: Live Linked Folders, Smarter File Sorting & Operator UI Polish

Managing media that changes right up until showtime—or even during a live broadcast—just got a lot easier. This latest release introduces the Linked Folder module, allowing sections of your cue list to stay dynamically synced with folders on your local disk or network drive, alongside quality-of-life improvements to monitor spacing, file sorting, and keyboard handling.

Live Folder Sync with the Linked Folder Module

Instead of manually dragging in new files every time an editor renders an updated clip or drops new graphics into a shared drive, you can now link a section of your cue list directly to a directory on disk.

  • Automatic Two-Way Protection: When the Linked Folder module is enabled, any linked section in your cue list mirrors the exact contents of its target folder on disk. If you accidentally delete a cue, drag an external item into the linked section, or pull a linked cue out of place, the list automatically restores itself to match the disk folder.
  • Persistent Cue & Group Settings: While the file structure is strictly enforced by the folder, your show parameters remain intact. Individual cue adjustments (such as custom volume levels) are preserved across syncs. Furthermore, any modifications made to a linked group—like changing its custom icon or toggling playlist looping—are passed back through the module and saved directly to the folder’s configuration.
  • On-Air Fail-Safe: Live playout safety always comes first. If a file is deleted or moved from the watched folder on disk while that specific cue is actively playing on air, the software will never cut it off. The cue remains active until you transition and take the next cue on air, at which point the missing item is cleanly removed from the rundown.

Smarter Folder Imports & Natural Sorting

Dragging a standard folder of media onto the cue list now behaves much more intuitively, eliminating the need to manually clean up filenames after import:

  • Natural Number Sorting: Files are now sorted just like they are in Windows File Explorer. Numbers are evaluated by their actual value rather than purely alphabetically, meaning 2 properly appears before 10.
  • Automatic Prefix Stripping: To keep your rundown clean and readable, leading sequence numbers followed by a dot (.), hyphen (-), underscore (_), or closing bracket ()) are automatically stripped from the generated cue name. For example, 01 - Welcome.mp4 cleanly becomes Welcome in the cue list.
  • Smart Year Detection: The parser distinguishes between ordering prefixes and actual titles, so a file named 2024 Review.mp4 retains its full name (2024 Review) without stripping the year.

Side-by-Side Preview & Program Monitors

On ultrawide and high-resolution displays, the Next Cue (Preview) and On Air (Program) monitors previously centered themselves within their own respective halves of the panel, creating a wide visual gap in the middle that made quick eye-scans harder.

Both monitors are now anchored directly side by side in the center of the panel, pushing any unused empty space to the outer left and right edges so your eyes can track both feeds simultaneously.

Bug Fixes & Stability

  • Safe Inline Cue Renaming (No Accidental “GO”): Fixed an issue where pressing Enter to confirm a cue rename would simultaneously pass that keystroke down to the rundown and trigger GO on the currently armed cue. While editing a cell, keyboard input is now strictly captured by that cell. Pressing Enter during normal list navigation continues to trigger GO as expected.
  • PowerPoint Editor Window Controls: Fixed a bug where clicking the window close button (X) or selecting Close inside the PowerPoint editor did not close the window. The editor now closes properly while still prompting you to save if there are unsaved changes.
