Hi @bcaster,
The new release is now live—a bit ahead of schedule—and full support for .playoutcue files is officially included!
Everything works right as outlined in our previous message, plus a few helpful details from the documentation for when you start generating files from your external program:
Relative & Absolute Paths: If you provide a path without a drive letter, Ultimate Playout automatically resolves it relative to the linked folder where the .playoutcue file lives. Full local and network paths work as expected (just remember to escape backslashes as \\ in JSON).
Optional Parameters & Defaults: Only path or url is strictly required. If title is omitted, the cue automatically uses the .playoutcue filename (with any leading ordering number stripped). An out point of 00:00 (or omitting it) plays to the end of the file, and any other omitted parameters simply use the default cue settings.
Non-Destructive Two-Way Sync: When you adjust in, out, volume, transition, or follow inside the cue list, those edits are written directly back to the .playoutcue file. At the same time, Ultimate Playout leaves path, url, title, and any custom JSON keys your own software might store in the file completely untouched.
Validation & Logging: If a .playoutcue file contains invalid JSON, is missing a path/url, or points to a file that doesn’t exist yet, Ultimate Playout safely skips it and writes a clear line in the log so you can easily troubleshoot your script output.
You can download the update now and test it with your 3+ GB source files. Let us know how it runs in your setup!
