Currently, modifying the .playout file on disk while it is open won’t hot-reload dynamically—you would indeed need to close and reopen the file for changes to take effect.

However, we are actively developing a dedicated module specifically designed to handle external rundown updates and dynamic cue injection while playout is running. We don’t have a fixed release date just yet, but we expect to make a first version available within the next two weeks.

Keep an eye out for updates, and feel free to share any specific workflow requirements you have in mind for this!
